SATC star dismisses Hatcher rumours

'Sex and the City' star Jason Lewis has dismissed rumours suggesting that he is romantically involved with 'Desperate Housewives' star Teri Hatcher.
According to the National Ledger, the actor, who plays Samantha's boyfriend Smith in the show, said: "I didn't know. I don't pay enough attention, I guess. I just found out from you that me and Teri are dating."
He also said that he wasn't bothered about media reports, saying: "Life's not that serious."
"Sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me... Schoolyard wisdom."

Ashlee Simpson 'not engaged' yet

Singer Ashlee Simpson is "not engaged", despite being pictured with a diamond ring on her wedding finger.
According to People magazine, the 23-year-old, who is currently dating Fall Out Boy star Pete Wentz, dismissed the rumours during a recent visit to Fuse TV.
Simpson said that she was wearing a promise ring from her boyfriend, explaining by saying: "It just means that he hasn't asked my dad yet."
A representative for the singer said: "She is not engaged."

Pete Doherty Urges Amy Winehouse's husband to Leave Her

Pete Doherty is so taken with Amy Winehouse -- he has begged the troubled singer's husband to leave her.

The 'Babyshambles' frontman has written incarcerated Blake a letter urging him to step aside because he would be a better lover for the 'Rehab' singer.

A source said: "Pete has written to Blake and told him bluntly to do the decent thing. If he loves Amy, let her go."

Doherty - who, like Amy, 24, is battling drug addictions -- also told Blake -- who is currently on remand in London's Pentonville Prison -- he had proposed to Amy four years ago when they met on a British TV show.

The source added: "Pete explained in his letter to Blake that he genuinely believes if he and Amy had got together then, they would've weathered the storms of fame together and not have succumbed to addiction or depression.

"He thinks they're two halves of the same coin, stronger together than apart. And he blames Blake for hurting Amy and getting her in this mess."

Stiller, Witherspoon sign with Crowe

Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon will star in an untitled romantic comedy directed by 'Jerry Maguire's' Cameron Crowe.
Crowe wrote the screenplay and will produce the film which reunites the director with Columbia for the first time since 'Almost Famous'.
According to Variety the film will begin shooting in January when Stiller and Witherspoon are free.
Stiller will next be seen in the comedy 'Tropic Thunder' which he co-wrote, produced and directed. He is shooting 'Night at the Museum 2: Escape from the Smithsonian.'
Witherspoon's upcoming films include 'Four Christmases' opposite Vince Vaughn and the Dreamwork's animation 'Monsters V's Aliens'.

Liam Neeson, James Nesbitt in 'Heaven'

Oliver Hirschbiegel's latest examines Northern Ireland

LONDON -- Two of Northern Ireland's most famous faces, Liam Neeson and James Nesbitt, are starring in Oliver Hirschbiegel's latest directorial outing, "Five Minutes of Heaven."

"Heaven" revolves around two men whose lives have been wrecked by the violent conflict that rocked Northern Ireland from the 1960s through the beginning of the peace process in 1998.

Both actors are no strangers to big-screen tales set at home, with Neeson starring as the titular character in 1996's "Michael Collins" and Nesbitt taking the lead in Paul Greengrass' 2002 film "Bloody Sunday."

The drama, penned by Guy Hibbert, focuses on how the duo struggle to come to terms with the after-effects of the conflict that raged between Republican and Loyalist paramilitary groups, the British Army and the Royal Ulster Constabulary.

The project is produced by Eoin O'Callaghan at Big Fish Films and executive produced by Paul Trijbits at London-based Ruby Films.

Sales are being handled by British-based, French-owned Pathe International, which is backing the project alongside BBC Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen, the Irish Film Board and Element Pictures, which will distribute the film in Eire.

Jeremy Irons to return to Broadway

NEW YORK — Jeremy Irons will return to Broadway for the first time in 25 years, co-starring with Joan Allen in "Impressionism."

The new play by Michael Jacobs opens in spring 2009 at a theater to be announced.

Irons was last on Broadway in 1984 in Tom Stoppard's "The Real Thing," for which he won a Tony. Allen received a Tony for her performance in Lanford Wilson's "Burn This" in 1988. She also appeared on Broadway in "The Heidi Chronicles" by Wendy Wasserstein.

"Impressionism," directed by Jack O'Brien, tells the story of the relationship between a photojournalist and a New York gallery owner.

Jacobs, a producer of the movie "Quiz Show," has been involved in more than a dozen TV series including "Boy Meets World" and "Charles in Charge." His play "Cheaters" had a short run on Broadway in 1978.
